Akhonamathemba “Sweet Guluva” Mbele is officially Mzansi’s breakout star of the year.
The Big Brother Mzansi: Umlilo winner has swept two prestigious awards: Best Social Media Newcomer at the South African Social Media Awards (SASMA) on 22 November 2025 and Best Male TV Personality at the National Film and Television Awards (NFTA) earlier this year.
At SASMA, held at Mosaïek Theatre, Guluva accepted his trophy with his signature humility, thanking God and his loyal “Sweet Gs” fanbase.
The double victory cements his rapid rise from barber to reality TV champion to multi-award-winning personality, with brand deals (Dove, LottoStar, Coke), music collabs (DJ Zinhle), and a growing empire.
