On 22 November 2025, Ashley Ogle arrived at the South African Social Media Awards (SASMA) with three nominations and the loudest fanbase in the room.
She won two awards:
• Most Popular Hashtag of the Year (#AshleyBrylnnOgle)

• Best Social Media Newcomer

Then, in front of a stunned audience at Mosaïek Theatre, she refused to accept them.
“Thank you to God and my Ashes,” she told the mic. “I’ve won global awards already. Tonight I feel unprepared and I want to earn future wins authentically.”
The room went dead silent. Phones came out. Within minutes the clip was viral.
Fans called it “queen behaviour” and “legendary.” Critics dragged her for arrogance and “making it about herself.” The moment dominated X for days, with #AshleyOgle and #SASMA trending side-by-side.
Two days later, Ashley is still unbothered — promoting Krispy Kreme, flexing her Chery Global trophy from China, and letting her supporters do the talking.
Love her or hate her, she turned a local awards show into her biggest headline yet.
